What should I bring to my first class?

We provide mats, towels, and all of the equipment you’ll need for class. All you have to bring is water or a water bottle to fill up at our water fountain, and sneakers. We require people to wear socks (preferably grippy) if not wearing shoes, and we have grippy socks available for purchase.

Where do I park on Freret Street?

We have a large parking lot behind our studio and there is plenty of free, street parking on Freret Street if the parking lot is full.

Is Body Shoppe good for beginners?

Yes! All of our classes are designed for all levels of fitness and our instructors are trained to provide modifications to accommodate limitations.

How much does a fitness studio membership cost in New Orleans?

Our memberships start at $90 per month for a 4 classes per month membership, while our Unlimited membership is up to $219 per month. We also offer class packages if you don’t want a membership, and we encourage everyone to start with our intro package, which is 4 classes for $59 (to be used over 10 days).

Do you have showers?

Yes! Our shower is fully stocked with products from Public Goods, a clean beauty company. We also have towels, a hair dryer, and a dedicated space to do your hair and makeup.

What’s the difference between HIIT 30, 45, and 60?

All of our standard classes are 45 minutes long, though we also offer some classes for 30 minutes and some for 60 minutes. Just because a class is 30 minutes, it doesn’t mean it’s less of a workout!

How hot is the studio?

Our studio has infrared heat panels on the ceiling and all classes, aside from Tempo: Dance Cardio + Sculpt, are heated to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Our Tempo classes are not heated.

Do you offer student discounts?

Yes! We offer student discounts for both our classes and recovery services. Please send us an email from your student email address to add the student discount to your account.

How long should I stay in a cold plunge?

We recommend people build up to 3-5 minutes in the cold plunge. We keep our cold plunge tank at 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and you might only last 30 seconds your first session, which is perfectly fine! You’ll still receive some benefits from the cold plunge. If after 5 minutes you feel fine, try getting out and then getting back in for a few more minutes. Your reservation is for 10 minutes.

What does an infrared sauna session feel like?

Relaxing! We keep our infrared sauna around 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which is lower than a traditional sauna, but the infrared heat will warm up your muscles and deliver a lot of sweat!

Do I need a membership to book recovery?

No! We offer recovery memberships, and include free sessions with our classes memberships, but you can also buy single sessions ($15 for the cold plunge, $30 for the infrared sauna) or packages.

How far in advance can I book?

We offer advance booking for our 12-month memberships, which allow you to book beyond your current month. Our other memberships can only book within their current month, and our class packages can be used up until the package expiration (2 months for a 5 class package, 3 months for a 10 class package).

What’s your cancellation policy?

There will be no penalty if you cancel more than 6 hours from the start of the class. Cancellations within 6 hours will result in lost credits or a $15 penalty for unlimited packages. All clients booking with a package are subject to a $25 no show fee if they do not show up for class and do not cancel.

Do you take ClassPass?

We only offer a limited selection of classes on ClassPass. The majority of our offerings are reserved for those who buy classes directly from us. We do this to prioritize the members of our Body Shoppe community.

How big are your classes?

Our classes are capped at 17 participants.

Can I book the studio for a private event?

Yes! We offer private classes for bachelorette parties, birthdays, team building, and retreats. Contact us to book a private class.

How does your waitlist policy work?

If you join the waitlist, consider yourself in the class.You may get into class up to 15 minutes before start time. Once you’re added to the roster, normal cancellation policies are applicable. If you can no longer take a class, remove yourself from the waitlist with no penalty.

Can I freeze my membership or package?

All 12 month contracts have the option to freeze their membership for one month and all 4 month contracts have the option to freeze for a total of 14 days. Please see the Front of Shoppe to request a membership pause. We appreciate as much notice as possible prior to freezing.
